The Harvest

Work feels like its been a lot less satisfying this past week or two. It could be that they (at least, the junior high kids) just finished their midterms, but I am worried it has more to do with my inefficiencies. We'll see, I guess. Anyhow, Wednesday afternoon at least was fun. I present you with two photos from the day:

talking after school with a group of sanensee (third year elementary)
They made me memorize their names and recite them as fast as I could for like ten minutes. I can prove it!
(left to right) Mina, Minoli, Kaho, Saki, Megumi (the very same that was mentioned in previous posts), Reina, Shiori, and Tsubasa.

I was let off early a few hours today because my elementary lessons at Naruhama were cancelled, and the VP at Naruto Higashi JHS (my homebase) remembers that I often stay longer after school and work unpaid overtime. Hylton should be home soon, and at 6:30 we're catching a train (actually multiple trains) to Shibuya (Tokyo) to go to a concert.

In other news, the constant burning of crops, trash and land here gives me terrible headaches. I hope its just a harvest-season kind of thing. As I was biking home this afternoon I saw lots of harvesting going on. I think right now is peanuts, and a couple of weeks ago were sweet potatoes. Before that was the rice. Next entry I promise I'll talk about the harvest/autumn festival that Hylton and I accidentally stumbled upon last weekend.
